Muslim Week at York University, including tips on wife beating
The booklet “Women in Islam” recommends:
“Although beating of women is generally forbidden, Islam permits the beating of wives in a restricted and limited sense only as a final solution and acceptable valid reason when all else fails. This is analogous to spanking children when all else fails and they must learn a lesson in obedience for their own protection and success.”
The latest event held there didn’t disappoint. Apparently, right now the university is offering another “bridge-building” initiative called Islam Awareness Week. Its purpose is to improve the image of Islam and show that the latter is not some kind of a medieval violent cult that regularly produces murderous terrorists of all possible ethnicities and races. Great initiative! Let’s see how it worked.
The pictures and the video below were graciously provided by a person, who attended the event. Unfortunately, I can’t credit him or her, because he or she was chased away for taking pictures of the Muslim women. Being on the receiving end of the Muslim “tolerance” usually means that you need to go into hiding. The photos are not perfect, but that’s the best one can do in such circumstances.
A warning sign in the exhibits is the participation of the Muslim Student Association (MSA), a shady international group with shady ties to even shadier Islamic organizations. The dominant theme appears to be the rights of women (with the communist women’s day on March 8 approaching, the Islamists probably want to show that Islam is doing a great job in that field). There were mostly girls doing the “outreach” and you can’t help but notice that all of them are well covered – from hijabs and long skirts to the classy Islamic look of full body bag. In the video below you can see an overview of the event:
It’s not by chance that the MSA chose as representatives girls dressed in outfits that would look ridiculous to most normal Canadians. The idea was to promote the great liberating role of Islam in the lives of women. That was explained clearly in the posters:
Crash course on women in Islam: Hijab is empowering, but why is the woman faceless?
And here is a close-up of the poster:
Women in Islam
Women’s Rights over Ages
Islam emerged during the era of ignorance and gave women their rights and freed them from oppression long before the modern conceptions of women’s rights even existed. From the rights to education and equality, to inheritance and ownership, all of these were granted by Allah’s Messenger to women over fourteen hundred years ago.
As well, women were given the right to marry whomsoever they wished, free from pressure… Likewise, women were also given the right to divorce if they were mistreated by their husbands.
Misconceptions about the Hijab
The Hijab is not oppression, nor the constraining of women. Contrary to popular belief, it is a beautiful blessing bestowed upon women in Islam. This representation of dignity, respect and modesty also seeks to fulfill the ordainmaent of Allah (God) to dress modestly. The Hijab also symbolizes a pure and beautiful character and heart.
They make an even bolder statement in another poster: Islam: Liberating Women Since 1400 Years
The joke of the century
The organizers warn that life outside of Islam deceives people and they have to hurry up and join the cult.
The strangest thing here is that those screeds are not taken from the routine of a mediocre Muslim comedian. They are being sold as absolute truths while having nothing in common with reality. You can’t claim with straight face that Islam “gave women their rights and freed them from oppression.” Well, that may work in Bangladesh, but in this case the blatant deceptive propaganda is being spread in one of Canada’s foremost institutions for higher learning. If nobody at York University is challenging those lies, it is clear that the institution has reached the stage of advanced intellectual decay.
In Islam women are second-class people – their inheritance is only a fraction of what men get. They are controlled by their “guardians” who enter all contracts (including marriage) on their behalf. A man can divorce his wife by stating it three times, while she has to go through a lengthy process to achieve the same result, while risking dying in the process if she ruined his “honour.” Little girls can be legally raped – they just need to be “married.” In many Muslim countries women are discouraged from studying.
And let’s not forget the “joys” of the female genital mutilation – it is probably just another empowering procedure in Islam. As of the hijab, Aqsa Pervez from Mississauga was strangled by her father and brother, because she didn’t want to wear that “beautiful blessing.”
Promoting those lies about how great Islam is to women assumes that York University is dominated by complete idiots. And that might be the truth…
And that’s not all. On one of the tables, where the hijab was promoted, you can see a few copies of a popular Muslim propaganda booklet – “Women in Islam”. (…)
People who get those booklets from proselytizing Muslims usually don’t read them – they just want to make the impression of being tolerant by accepting the “gift.” Well, I read everything that I get – it’s a great source of material. I have the same booklet, so when I read it, I was not surprised that it covered the Muslim methods of dealing with unruly women:
