The search for a missing York Region man is now a murder investigation, after police found the body of Sina Parsi.

Toronto police found Parsi’s body on Friday near Jane Street and St. Clair Avenue West, three days after he went missing.

Investigators say someone tried to access the 32-year-old man’s bank accounts after he disappeared.

Homicide detectives hope witnesses will come forward with information about what happened. Parsi’s death marks Toronto’s 23rd homicide of the year.

The case was handed over to the homicide unit of the York Regional Police earlier in the week, though at the time it was still considered a missing persons case.

Seen leaving soccer game

Parsi was last seen leaving a soccer game in the Teston Road and Highway 400 area on Tuesday around 11:20 p.m. ET. He drove away in his 2012 black Dodge Ram pick-up truck.

On Thursday, police found his truck in a Jane Street and Alliance Avenue area parking lot around 1:15 a.m. Parsi was not with the vehicle, but a passerby found his wallet nearby.

Parsi was also captured on security camera footage getting out of his truck and walking south on Jane Street before disappearing from view.
