Witali Miloslawski charged in Vaughan bakery theft
York Regional Police allege the man, 31, took the items while holding a large knife. Police also say the man resisted arrest.
A man faces several charges, including theft, after consuming an energy drink and a loaf of bread from a Vaughan bakery.
According to York Regional Police Const. Andy Pattenden, the 31-year-old man took the items from a bakery north-east of Pine Valley Drive and Highway 7 around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Pattenden said the man – while holding a large knife – drank a Red Bull drink and ate a loaf of bread without paying for the items.
Bakery staff got into an argument with the man and called police.
Pattenden added the man didn’t use the knife to steal the drink and the bread.
Police said in a statement that officers arrived as the man left the bakery. The officers were able to arrest the man, but he resisted being taken into custody.
Witali Miloslawski is charged with theft under $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, assault with a weapon and two counts of assault police officer.
Miloslawski was scheduled to appear at Newmarket court Thursday for a bail hearing.
