A murder-related charge against a St. John’s fugitive has been upgraded in a Nova Scotia court.
Daniel Borden, 25, has not been seen since March 12, when he was last seen in the Pleasantville area of St. John’s.
Borden, who is wanted in St. John’s on an outstanding warrant, had also been wanted in Halifax for being an accessory after the fact for attempted murder.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said Borden’s charge in Halifax has now been upgraded to conspiracy to commit murder.
Borden was supposed to have appeared in a Halifax court on Monday, but failed to do so.
“There are now additional warrants outstanding for his arrest from Nova Scotia,” Const. Suzanne FitzGerald said in a statement.
Police in Halifax say a shooting connected to the charge was drug-related.
Police describe Borden as five feet nine inches and weighing about 135 pounds, and as having short black hair and brown eyes.
