The funeral for an Oshawa teen stabbed to death before dozens of his horrified peers will be held later today.

Mike McDonald, 16, a football player known to his friends as “Biggy,” died last Tuesday.

The funeral will be held at Westminster United Church in Whitby Monday at noon.

Police say MacDonald got into a fight at a bus stop with someone he had a mutually antagonistic relationship with, but things turned deadly when the suspect pulled out a knife.

Teachers attempted to break up the fight, but failed to prevent the stabbing. The suspect was arrested a short time later.

Jacques Amakon, 18, of Oshawa, has been charged with second-degree murder and possession of a dangerous weapon.
